We are working with a well-established engineering business in Tewkesbury who are looking to bring in a Stores Operative to support their Supply Chain team. The Stores Operative is a key role within the business, helping to ensure materials are received, stored, and issued correctly so production can run smoothly. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role, takes pride in being organised, and wants to be part of a busy, supportive team environment.
Duties Will Include:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the stores function, making sure materials and components are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Receiving and unloading deliveries safely.
- Checking goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Inspecting items for damage or discrepancies.
- Booking stock into internal systems accurately.
- Storing materials in the correct locations.
- Issuing stock to production and internal teams.
- Keeping stock records up to date.
- Supporting stock checks and stock takes.
- Working closely with purchasing and production teams.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe stores environment.
Skills and Experience needed:
- Previous experience in a stores operative, warehouse, or stock control role.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of stock control processes.
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
- Good numeracy and organisational skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment - Desirable (but not essential).
- Experience using stock or ERP systems.
- FLT licence (or willingness to be trained).
