Due to continued growth, Next Generation are recruiting for a Tool Maker to work with a well-established family-run Engineering business based in Birmingham. As the Tool Maker, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of machining for a business that has upheld a strong reputation with its clients across the UK.
Duties of the Tool Maker:
- Reading engineering drawings to be able to confidently and competently manufacture tooling components
- To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines
- Be able to measure finished parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.
- Minimal downtime to aid production
- Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
- Prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs.
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the company
The successful candidate for the Tool Maker's position will have the following experience:
- Apprentice trained (Desirable)
- 3-5 years experience as a Toolmaker (Essential)
- Ability to use XYZ machines (Essential)
