Next Generation have been appointed to recruit for a Facilities Engineer to work for a well-established manufacturing business who supply into multiple industries. Based in Tewkesbury, the Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site facilities, infrastructure, and utility systems across the manufacturing environment.

Duties of the Facilities Engineer:

  • Lead the day-to-day management and maintenance of all site facilities, infrastructure, and utility systems including electrical distribution, compressed air, extraction systems, HVAC, chilled water systems, effluent treatment, and process support equipment.
  • Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and ensure operational reliability across the facility.
  • Support the continuous improvement of site infrastructure, utilities efficiency, energy management, and environmental performance.
  • Manage reactive maintenance issues and coordinate timely corrective actions to minimise operational disruption.
  • Oversee contractor management processes including inductions, permits to work, RAMS reviews, supervision, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory inspections, maintenance certifications, and regulatory requirements including electrical testing, pressure systems, fire systems, lifting equipment, and environmental controls.
  • Support facility and infrastructure CAPEX projects including equipment installation, factory layout changes, utility upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering, HSE, and Quality teams to support manufacturing requirements and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, asset registers, and compliance logs.
  • Assist with emergency response planning and business continuity activities relating to utilities and infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise maintenance spend.
  • Support audits relating to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel and wider operational teams.
  • Monitor contractor and supplier performance to ensure work is completed safely, professionally, and within agreed standards.
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture across all facilities and engineering activities.

The successful candidate for the Facilities Engineer's position will have the following experience:

  • Apprentice trained, or a HND within Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities, and/or Building Services (Essential)
  • Five years experience working as a Facilities Engineer (Essential)
  • Experienced in providing Facilities maintenance within a manufacturing environment (Essential)
  • Previous experience working with turned parts or a machining environment (Desirable)
