Due to continued growth, I’m currently recruiting for a Foundry Operative to work with a well-established engineering company based near Halesowen. As the Foundry Operative, you will be responsible for operating counterbalance FLT’s and overhead cranes.

What’s on offer for the Foundry Operative:

Shift for the Foundry Operative:

  • Monday - Wednesday (6.00am - 16.00pm)
  • Thursday (6.00am - 15.00pm)

Duties of the Foundry Operative:

  • Operating machinery in the heat treatment area (chargers)
  • Collect work from the forgings department to load into heat treatment.
  • Operating the pendant and cab-controlled cranes within the machine shop. (All LOLER and associated training will be provided)
  • Managing the logistics of the department by moving goods around using FLT’s and the cranes.
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles via forklift or crane
  • General cleaning, tidying and removing any unwanted items from the department.
  • Support with continuous improvement
  • Work as a team to maximise productivity.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with the Company’s H&S Policy.

The successful candidate for the Foundry Operative position will have the following experience:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience operating Counterbalance FLT’s (Essential)
  • Experience working within a foundry (Desirable)
  • Operating overhead cranes (Desirable)
