Next Generation have been appointed to recruit for a Field Service Engineer to work for a well-established manufacturing company that specialises in state of the art optical and RF microwave components.
As the Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing customer relationships within the RF and microwave technology sector, driving sales growth, and identifying new business opportunities across key markets including defence, aerospace, telecommunications, satellite communications, and advanced electronics.
Duties of the Field Service Engineer:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within target markets and applications
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, engineering teams, procurement departments, and strategic customers
- Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations
- Understand customer technical requirements and propose suitable RF and microwave solutions
- Assist in the preparation of quotations, proposals, and commercial negotiations
- Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams to support solution development and feasibility assessments
- Support customers throughout the full sales lifecycle from enquiry through to project delivery
- Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer interactions
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies within the RF and microwave industry
- Attend industry exhibitions, networking events, and customer meetings to promote the company and its capabilities
- Deliver sales targets and support wider business growth objectives
- Provide feedback to the business regarding customer requirements, market opportunities, and product development needs
- Promote a professional, customer-focused approach aligned to company values and standards
- Ensure compliance with export control, confidentiality, and industry regulatory requirements where applicable
The successful candidate for the Field Service Engineer position will have the following experience:
- 3-5 years experience working as a Field Service Engineer with RF & Microwave Technology (Essential)
- Expert knowledge with RF & Microwave technologies (Essential)
- Ability to understand technical customer requirements (Essential)
- Knowledge of Electronic components and systems (Essential)
