Hourly rate: up to £18 per hour (DOE)

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 16.00pm, Fridays 7.30am - 14.30pm

Holiday entitlement: 33 days

Due to continued growth, Next Generation are currently recruiting for a Toolmaker to work with a well-established manufacturing company based in Birmingham. As the Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the manufacture, modification, and repair of a wide variety of tooling and precision components. This is a hands-on role requiring a high level of skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work from drawings with minimal supervision.

Duties of the Toolmaker:

  • CNC milling using XYZ machines
  • Toolmaking for jigs, fixtures, and production tooling
  • One-off and small batch precision components
  • Tool repair, maintenance, and modification

The successful candidate for the Toolmaker's position will have the following experience:

  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker or CNC Miller in a toolroom environment
  • Strong CNC milling experience (XYZ controls preferred)
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Experience with one-off and bespoke work (not just production machining)
  • Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset
