Hello! I’m Nicolas, Chief Product Officer at Next Gate Tech, and we’re looking for a passionate Junior Software Engineer with a builder’s mindset to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced developers and product teams to build and improve our applications. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, loves solving problems, and is looking to kick-start their career in software engineering.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in the design, development, and testing of software applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Collaborate in code reviews and learn best practices
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve bugs and limitations
- Contribute to the technical documentation of the software
- Monitor production environments to ensure application availability, performance, and quality
- Assist in identifying and responding to production issues in a timely manner
- Focus on improving problem-solving skills, deepening knowledge of systems, and expanding toolset proficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Good understanding of backend technologies including Python, familiarity with databases and API development
- Previous internship or project experience in software development is a plus
- Exposure to cloud platforms (private or in a previous experience) such as Google or AWS is desirable
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Good problem-solving skills and a strong willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
