The Global Philanthropy team is part of Corporate Responsibility and deploys philanthropic capital to community partners that are delivering innovative models and solutions to advance an economy that works for all.
Reaching more than 35 markets around the world, our philanthropic commitments focus on creating systems change and driving sustainable impact in three pillars of work internationally: Business Growth & Entrepreneurship, Careers & Skills and Financial Health.
As an Associate in the Global Philanthropy team you will support strategy development and independently manage programmes focused on Small Business Growth & Entrepreneurship and Careers & Skills pillars to contribute to the management, development and implementation of the firm’s philanthropic programs in selected countries in Europe.
- Job responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support development of the philanthropic Business Growth and Entrepreneurship strategy for Europe and contribute to Corporate Responsibility’s broader inclusive economic development agenda.
- Design, plan, execute and monitor grants aligned to Corporate Responsibility’s broader inclusive economic development agenda:
- Source and structure partnerships with leading organizations to address needs in the communities we serve, to support the development of the local grant-making strategy that aligns to firmwide priorities.
- Determine success measures for these programs
- Conduct effective due diligence and risk analysis to ensure that the firm’s resources and reputation are protected.
- Manage live grants to ensure that the work funded is delivered according to plan, impact reports are submitted and internal processes are followed to manage risks.
- Manage internal reporting systems, perform regular data analysis and maintain grants database to confirm grant-making data is accurate and up to date.
- Support relationship building, including development of materials for internal and external stakeholders to enhance impact of philanthropic initiatives and elevate collaboration with the broader firm.
- Assist the broader Global Philanthropy team to address ad-hoc requests and support the firm’s Corporate Responsibility strategy.
- Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience of grant-making and/or experience working with social impact organisations, corporate responsibility, or impact investing.
- Experience and/or knowledge of entrepreneurship growth, related to access to capital and technical assistance for underserved entrepreneurs, in European context.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Power Point, Word and Excel.
- Self-starter and ability to work both in a team as well as independently driving projects and programme development.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines under pressure.
- Effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels and on complex issues.
- Good balance of analytical, commercial and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in other European languages.
- Good knowledge or understanding of European funding landscape.
