Leading London Market Insurance company, actively looking for an experienced Reinsurance Operations Lead with strong technical skills for their London office. The role will lead the operational and administrative processes, particularly in relation to ceded facultative reinsurance administration in UK Insurance Operations.
You will:
- Embed a high performing culture in the Insurance Operations team, steering the team vision, coaching, and developing staff, managing performance.
- Create and monitor controls to verify the completeness and accuracy of premium accounting entries, in line with financial standards including Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Provide high-quality risk data to reserving, pricing, and data functions to support analytics.
- Identify and implement process and control improvements across operational, underwriting, and reporting areas.
- Lead redesign of business processes for timely submission of facultative reinsurance accounts and policy data, considering controls, contractual, regulatory, and service requirements.
- Interpret contract wording from reinsurance certificates, slips, declarations, bordereaux, and endorsements.
- Understand ceding hierarchy and interpret contract wording from underlying insurance policies.
- Ensure accurate recording of facultative premium data and reconcile facultative results with reinsurance accounting.
- Act as liaison between Underwriting and Ceded Reinsurance Accounting for inquiries from reinsurers and brokers.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in specialty or property and casualty (re)insurance.
- Proven leadership skills and confidence in team management.
- Solid experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Flexible, team-oriented, with strong administrative abilities including prioritization and multitasking.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage workload independently.
- Effective team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Working knowledge of key (re)insurance systems (e.g., SAP Reinsurance Management, Genius, Guidewire Policycenter, ImageRight) is preferred.
