This role is within US Casualty, a team who work closely together to provide a market-leading claims advocacy service with responsibility for ensuring the effective management and settlement of high-profile, complex claims. A Claims Advocate is a strategic partner, focused on driving client success and business growth. They leverage expert communication, persuasive argumentation, and insurance policy analysis to present compelling cases for clients. By anticipating potential challenges and addressing stakeholder concerns, they ensure optimal outcomes throughout the claim's lifecycle.

You will be involved with:

  • Identifying coverage issues and problems early in the life cycle of the claim and working with clients and insurers to resolve these problems to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Producing claims information and presenting to insurers or clients, either in written or networked format; and dealing with any resultant instructions, queries and enquiries.
  • Monitoring insurers’ agreement and payment of funds and ensuring that payment is made to the appropriate beneficiary.
  • Reporting any claims difficulties immediately to management.
  • Ensuring relevant insurer’s instructions are notified to Client/expert and vice versa.
  • Building meaningful relationships with Clients, experts and insurers by dealing with them in a prompt, friendly and professional manner always.
  • Ensuring effective liaison with placing colleagues, including, where required, the maintenance and provision of claims statistics for renewal or similar purposes.
  • Ensuring effective liaison with accounting colleagues both in respect of collection/payment of funds, any queries, and the subsequent clearance of accounting entries.
  • Keeping up to date with market and system changes.

You will need:

  • 2 Years min exp dealing with US Casualty claims within a broker, insurer, lawyers or loss adjusters.
  • Dip CII.
  • Ability to use MS Word.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and ambitious – willing to take on challenges and grow technically and professionally.
