As a Sales Engineer at Next Dimension, you will play a key role in driving business by collaborating with Sales Representatives to identify and understand client needs, proposing impactful IT infrastructure solutions, and ensuring they align with the client's security posture. You will leverage your technical expertise to design, scope, and estimate solutions while working with internal SMEs, ensuring alignment with the company's service catalog and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Client Needs Assessment: Collaborate closely with Sales Representatives to not only understand what clients are asking for but also identify their business needs. Analyze how proposed solutions will impact the client's overall IT infrastructure and security posture.
- Solution Design & Documentation: Develop and design comprehensive IT solutions that meet client requirements. This includes drafting Statements of Work (SOW), estimates for services, and generating accurate quotes using ConnectWise Sell, utilizing existing templates or creating new ones when necessary.
- Internal Collaboration: Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the organization to build a complete solution. If the solution extends beyond the service catalog, consult with the CTO to ensure alignment with the company's long-term service offerings.
- Solution Approval Process: Submit proposed solutions for review through the company's Solutions Review Process, providing the Solutions Review Team an opportunity to validate and approve estimates and project details.
- Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients to discuss proposed solutions and, when necessary, perform site inspections to gather accurate details. Create drawings and take photographs when required to enhance understanding of the project scope.
- Distributor Engagement: Actively engage with our distributors and vendors to create accurate Bills of Materials (BOM). Collaborate with internal resources for validation of quotes and assistance with deal registrations. You will have access to all distributors and should be capable of managing your own deal registrations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices to ensure solutions remain current and competitive in the market.
- Proven experience in a Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, or similar technical sales role, ideally within an MSP or IT services environment.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and managed services.
- Proficient in developing Statements of Work, creating estimates, and generating quotes using ConnectWise Sell or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, internal teams, and distributors.
- Problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to conduct site inspections and provide clear technical documentation.
- Knowledge of the vendor and distributor landscape, and experience managing deal registrations.
- Familiarity with MSP service catalogs and ITIL practices.
