The Role

You’ll join the Commercial Lines team and take ownership of a portfolio of Motor Fleet business. This is underwriting in practice – hands‑on, relationship‑led, and focused on profitable outcomes. You’ll:

  • Underwrite and negotiate new and existing Motor Fleet risks within your authority
  • Apply pricing and risk strategies to maintain and grow profitability
  • Build and nurture strong broker relationships
  • Spot opportunities to expand or improve your portfolio
  • Share insights and contribute to underwriting strategy across the team
  • Represent the business at broker meetings and industry events

This is a role where experience and judgement matter – it’s not just about following process. Your decisions will be trusted, and you’ll have the autonomy to trade confidently.

Who You Are

You’re practical, confident, and can make informed decisions on complex risks. You’ll bring:

  • Solid experience in Motor Fleet underwriting
  • Motor Trade exposure (helpful, but not essential)
  • Strong technical and commercial judgement
  • A track record of building productive broker relationships
  • Confidence in negotiating and articulating your decisions
  • A detail‑focused, analytical approach
