Your role
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and detail-oriented Senior UX/UI Designer to join our eCommerce team on a 12 Month FTC. If you love designing experiences that put users first and take pride in creating visually stunning interfaces, we’d love to hear from you! Based from Next Head Office in Leicestershire.
The eCommerce UX team is responsible for ensuring the NEXT website and our partner brand websites look and feel modern and captivating, whilst designing everything from customer journeys and preferences to new and upcoming functionalities. As a Senior UX/UI Designer at NEXT, you will work across our Browse & Shop experience, the heart of how millions of customers discover and interact with our products, as well as our internal systems that empower teams behind the scenes. You’ll blend user experience and user interface design to create intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing digital experiences that drive ease, efficiency, and delight for both customers and colleagues.
Research and Analysis
- Analyse user behaviour, data, and industry trends to inform design decisions.
- Use insights to identify opportunities for innovation across customer-facing and internal tools.
- Carry out regular site and system reviews to spot bugs, accessibility issues, and optimisation opportunities.
UX Design
- Identify user pain points and design solutions to address them.
- Create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate based on feedback.
- Collaborate with product teams to define project requirements.
- Work with content strategists to develop effective information architecture.
UI Design
- Design intuitive, visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Create experiences that align with brand guidelines and design principles.
- Develop and maintain UI component libraries and design systems.
- Ensure consistency across different platforms and devices.
- Document and communicate interaction design patterns.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with developers to ensure design feasibility and accurate implementation.
- Present design concepts and research findings to stakeholders.
- Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to team members.

About you
- Proven experience in both UX and UI design, preferably in eCommerce or retail.
- Ability to work at pace, manage multiple projects, and prioritise effectively.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools (e.g. Figma, FigJam, UserTesting, Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
- Experience with prototyping and user testing tools.
- Knowledge of user research methodologies and data analysis.
- Understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and web standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
