We are looking for a dedicated Senior Set Builder to lead the creation of bespoke sets for all of NEXT's fashion shoots. This is an 8am-4pm role based in our Leighton Buzzard Studio.
As a Senior Set Builder, you will be instrumental in organising and leading the team's daily workload, ensuring that all bespoke sets are constructed to the highest standards. You will manage both personnel and resources to streamline operations, directly influencing the quality and execution of projects while ensuring all technical requirements are met with creativity and precision. Beyond the construction process, you will oversee the procurement of materials and the maintenance of essential workshop machinery. Your leadership will involve planning and allocating tasks efficiently to meet tight shoot deadlines, providing expert guidance to the team and maintaining a safe, functional working environment across the workshop studios and on-location sets. By proactively solving problems and shifting priorities to meet changing demands, you will help the department maintain its reputation for excellence. You will take ownership of workshop organisation and equipment care, ensuring the team has the support and infrastructure needed to deliver world-class visual content for the brand.
About you:
- Proven experience in set building or a similar role supported by a strong knowledge and skillset in carpentry.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to lead and manage a team's workload effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the resilience to remain calm under pressure.
- Adept at multitasking and comfortable adjusting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- A positive proactive attitude toward workshop management and team development.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
