Shift Patterns: 2 week rotation Weds-Sat / Thurs - Sat 18:00-06:00; 2 week rotation Sun-Wed / Sun - Tues 18:00-06:00.

The role: Join us as a Production Assistant at NEXT and play a vital part in keeping our fast-paced, ever-changing Distribution Warehouse running smoothly. Working right alongside our engineering team, you will ensure our production machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently. You’ll make a real difference by minimising down-time and maintaining a safe, productive working environment for everyone. From day one, you will receive comprehensive training and support on our Safe Systems of Work and operating procedures, helping you to confidently settle into the team, understand our performance standards, and build your skills.

What you'll take on:

  • Clear equipment blockages and jams swiftly to keep our production and materials handling systems moving.
  • Team up closely with Maintenance Engineers to assist with servicing and maintaining materials handling equipment.
  • Carry out routine operational tasks on ancillary equipment and monitor system performance to spot issues early.
  • Take care of essential cleaning within designated 'Maintenance Only' areas of production machinery and its immediate vicinity.
  • Report any complex equipment faults or malfunctions promptly to the System Control Manager or Shift Leaders.
  • Collaborate with the System Control Manager and wider team to deliver daily operational targets safely.

  • Practical computer literacy and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Prior experience in a similar production, engineering, or logistics environment is an advantage, but not essential.
