About the role… As a Reporting Analyst, you will serve as a key partner to the Reporting & Operations Manager, working collaboratively to consolidate insights that provide our Director and Heads of Merchandising with a "single source of truth". You will play a critical role in aligning data and strategic analysis to support informed decision-making and enhance overall merchandising effectiveness. By providing a comprehensive, big-picture view of the business, you help drive performance across all our wholly owned brands and joint ventures.
Role Responsibilities
- Reporting & Tool Building
- Create, amend, and maintain Power BI reports specifically tailored to the evolving needs of the business
- Create user stories and initiatives to ensure our reporting tools meet changing business requirements
- Lead or support the testing of new processes and reporting tools to identify and troubleshoot issues before rollout
- Train relevant team members on new systems and tools, developing clear, user-friendly reference documentation to support adoption
- Process Improvement & Change Management
- Constantly seek ways to improve the efficiency of business processes, ensuring they remain fit for purpose
- Proactively challenge existing ways of working to drive better results and operational benefits
- Create and maintain detailed "as-is" and "to-be" process documentation to guide transitions
- Assist in the planning and rollout of new systems, carefully considering timelines, risks, and business impact
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work across all divisions and joint ventures to gather and consolidate key company information
- Build strong working relationships across WOB, Beauty, Joint Ventures, and NEXT operational functions
- Oversee the end-to-end markdown process, including template creation and roll-up communications
- Identify opportunities for collaboration with NEXT to improve and innovate our internal business processes
- Provide support, as required, for promotions, price changes, department moves, season switch, attribution, item amendments and other adhoc tasks
Your Talent…
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and identify practical solutions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically for data manipulation and analysis
- Proficiency in Power BI for building reports and experience with SQL & databricks for data querying is preferred
- Familiarity with Excel Macros for process automation and efficiency improvements is a plus
- Exposure to applying AI tools and techniques across multiple functions to enhance reporting, analysis, and decision making
- An understanding of the retail merchandising lifecycle, from product selection to exit strategy
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences
