About us
You know Next, but did you know we’re a FTSE-100 retail company employing over 35,000 people across the UK and Ireland? We’re the UK’s 2nd largest fashion retailer and for Kidswear we’re the market leader. At the last count we have over 500 stores, plus the Next Online and it’s now possible to buy on-line from over 70 countries around the world!
Your role
While you’ll have heard our name, there’s a lot you probably don’t know about Next. Like how we create most of our systems ourselves – whether it’s a website, mobile app or application. What’s more, we’re growing. Fast. And it’s the kind of growth and investment that is exciting for everyone in our business. Our huge warehouse estate in Yorkshire is held together by the Warehouse team, the warehouses have an enormous amount of tech that allow us to receive, store, pick and pack items for our customers - handling everything from socks to sofas! The Warehouse team focuses heavily on automation which includes 40 miles of conveyor linking everything together across our sites, hundreds of storage and picking robots - a very fast moving, continuously changing part of NEXT Technology.
We are seeking a talented and passionate Technical Support Analyst to join our team in the Warehouse Systems Technology department. This is a first-line support position which will require shift work across weekdays and weekends and has a hybrid working requirement post-training, so please bear this in mind when applying. You will work Mon-Fri on-site during your initial weeks of training, within probation. So being able to commute to our South Elmsall complex is key to this role and your success.
You will provide support to Warehouse & Distribution users across the business on a number of existing systems whilst investigating in-house developed system enhancements and identifying bugs in the system applications. An understanding of the business impact of the incidents received and how to prioritise accordingly is essential. There will be escalation of high priority and business impacting issues to the relevant individuals and ensure the integrity of data by recording all actions for Incidents and Service Requests in the ServiceNow Service Management tool. You’ll also work closely with the development teams and key business users to keep everyone up to date and head off any issues that might be on the horizon.
About you
In addition, you’ll also use and enhance our in-house technologies. This will involve a range of tech. The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Incident logging systems such as ServiceNow
- Google G Suite
- Warehouse Management systems
