Up to £17.64 per hour (up to £37,000) dependent on experience, plus applicable shift premiums and bonus.

Your Next Role:
As a Transport Team Manager at Next, you will work closely with the Transport Assistant Site Manager in the fast-paced and time critical Central transport operation to ensure it runs smoothly, accurately and cost effectively on your shift. You manage a team of Transport Coordinators and Drivers and it's your job to ensure that the team on shift are well organised, trained and motivated to deliver the operational efficiency targets and that all processes are fully H&S compliant.
You will produce daily and weekly plans to achieve these targets, and monitor performance against standards, taking appropriate action to maintain or improve as required. Team Managers ensure that all Drivers hours and tachograph infringements are controlled and managed and that all statutory road transport legislation, O-licence requirements and Company policies and procedures are adhered to. Team Managers will monitor and investigate accidents and incidents, identifying Root Cause and implementing recommendations.
About you:
The Transport department at Next is a fast paced 24 hour operation and so there will often be a need for you to act independently and to think on your feet. You will demonstrate the ability to manage changing priorities, working well under pressure and able to make sound, operational decisions.
Along with proven people management skills, you must have experience of working in a busy transport function, demonstrating solid knowledge of road transport legislation, O-licence requirements and Driver hours. Your expertise is valued and as a Transport Team Manager, you will need to search out solutions, drawing upon your previous transport management experience to lead the team.
