The Role
At NEXT we have a great opportunity for a Visual and Creative Merchandiser to join our Brand Marketing team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
As a Visual and Creative Merchandiser, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a visually inspiring shopping environment for the NEXT customer, with a specific focus on the Home department.
This role is based at our Head Office in Leicestershire working full time 36 hours per week Monday-Friday.
In this position, you will play a key role in developing Head Office Visual Merchandising (VM) Guidelines to an exceptionally high standard while actively supporting and developing store teams across the business.
You will serve as a vital point of contact between the Home Product team and retail stores, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional visual presentation throughout every phase.
What You'll Take On
- Pre-plan and implement visual merchandising phase changes aligned with the mockshop critical path.
- Provide innovative ideas for layouts and display equipment, continuously researching new ways to enhance store environments and push the Home department forward.
- Coordinate and assemble clear Visual Merchandise guideline packs for each phase, drafting store memos and instructional materials.
- Assist with store openings and offer ongoing guidance and support to retail store teams.
- Build strong working relationships with the Home Product team and serve as the main point of contact for store and product query resolutions.
- Embody core company expectations by keeping the customer at the centre of your work, driving innovation, embracing continuous growth, and collaborating openly across teams.
What You'll Bring
- Proven Visual Merchandising experience within a retail environment.
- A strong creative eye with a genuine passion for Visual Merchandising.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments and store networks.
- Strong planning, time-management, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Willingness to travel, stay overnight for short periods, and work additional hours when required for store launches and projects.
- Prior experience working specifically with Home products is advantageous, though not essential.
