The Role
At NEXT, we have a great opportunity for a Senior Creative Copywriter to join our Brand Marketing team during an exciting period of growth and evolution.
As the Senior Creative Copywriter you will directly manage 3 Creative Copywriters.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract working hybrid from our Head Office in Leicestershire.
Reporting to the Creative Copy Manager, you will lead on copy excellence, team development and cross-departmental collaborations.
You’ll help shape campaigns, develop ideas, oversee creative briefs and champion NEXT copy across every customer touch point.
Additionally, you’ll help evolve how copy is created by introducing smarter ways of working, embedding AI where it genuinely adds value and helps raise the creative standard across the department.
What You'll Take On
- Developing campaign ideas alongside designers and creative leads, writing and shaping copy across key seasonal moments, CRM, homepage, app, social, retail and print.
- Champion a consistent, distinctive brand voice and help define what great copy looks like across the business.
- Explore how AI can improve creative workflows and productivity without compromising creativity, while helping to develop copy processes, templates and smarter ways of working.
- Mentor and support other copywriters through feedback, collaboration and creative reviews, bringing fresh inspiration to every project.
What You'll Bring
- A background working as a Senior Copywriter (or equivalent) within retail, fashion, agency or consumer brands, with a track record of shaping key integrated campaigns from concept through to delivery.
- Experience in helping evolve the creative processes, managing cross-department projects and refining the brand tone of voice.
- Experience mentoring copywriters or creatives, paired with an enthusiasm for solving creative problems, improving processes and helping others do their best work.
- Active experimentation with AI and new creative tools, alongside an understanding of how great creative ideas need to work commercially to deliver real results.
- Curiosity, generosity with ideas and a genuine interest in helping shape the future of a growing creative department.
