Overview
Assistant Buyer Menswear β Leicester, England, UK. The role involves developing a commercially successful product range by building strong relationships with suppliers and analysing data to plan across all categories. Collaboration with designers and merchandisers is key to this process.
Utilising specialist functions like product technology and sourcing to create outstanding products. Working closely with the e-commerce team to optimise online sales through tone of voice, imagery and other tools. Liaison with the Marketing team for campaigns and e-commerce shoots within department budgets. Managing the critical path for product development and selection and swiftly identifying new product opportunities. Effective team management, resource delegation and motivation are central to success. Frequent travel is required to source the best products and prices with regular sign-off on ranges.
Responsibilities
- With our online business growing, create attractive and profitable product ranges across the business by collaborating with Designers, Merchandisers and Technologists.
- Put together stylish new collections for every season.
- Plan and buy the product delivering agreed KPIs for sales, markdown and profit.
- Manage the critical path, identify opportunities to streamline processes and trade ranges in-season.
- Lead an initiative to start and nurture a fast-paced department from the ground up.
- Preserve and manage relationships with suppliers, designers and cross-functional teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer with a focus on Denim. The team is composed of industry experts who work across Menswear. The role provides a platform to drive a successful and fast-paced department from the start.

About You
- Ability to manage multiple product ranges with a clear understanding of brand DNA.
- Ideally an experienced buyer with strong analytical and planning skills.
- Ability to identify the latest trends and understand market competition.
- In-depth knowledge of the industry; track record in identifying opportunities to streamline the critical path and trade ranges in-season.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for effective collaboration.
- Enthusiastic, team-player mindset; experience in the industry is preferred.
- We would ideally like to bring in an Assistant Buyer with expert knowledge in this industry.
