The Role
Step into the role of Senior Merchandiser. This is an integral role based at our Joules Head Office where you will be right at the heart of the action. You will join our friendly, forward-thinking Merchandising department to help us land a strategy that feels as fresh and effortless as our collections. We are looking for someone who appreciates the finer details of our heritage while keeping a keen eye on the future, ensuring our customers are perfectly kitted out for their well-dressed time off.
Working Pattern: This is a full time role based at ‘The Barn’ - Joules’ purpose built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The typical hours for this role are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and this is an onsite role.
Our Location
Market Harborough in Leicestershire, is where Joules began in 1989. This market town is home to the brand’s Head Office and is full of independent shops, bars and restaurants. It also benefits from good transport links to London, making it easily accessible for visitors and commuters alike.
What You’ll Do
- You will be using your sharp analytical skills to predict the next big opportunity. You will ensure every piece lands exactly when it should, hitting financial plans and keeping the team moving at pace.
- Strategise and Predict: You will deliver a seasonal range framework that balances sales and profit, using internal insights and external trends to spot what is around the corner.
- Trading: You will live and breathe the weekly trade, reacting with speed and precision to shifting consumer demands. In our fast-changing environment, you’ll be the one turning real-time data into immediate commercial wins.
- Drive the Plan: You will take full accountability for your department plans, ensuring everything is delivered to hit our targets while adjusting the sails as the critical path progresses.
- Monitor and Action: By reforecasting and monitoring performance against the original plan, you will proactively chase down opportunities and keep risks at bay.
- Team: You will guide and support team members in achieving their goals and foster a positive work environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the progress of your team and ensuring they feel valued and motivated in their roles.
- Collaborate and Connect: You will work hand in hand with our suppliers to share seasonal visions and keep them updated on our business levels.
- Lead the Conversation: You will present your well-reasoned plans to key decision makers, using clear rationale to secure sign-off.
- Manage the Flow: Together with the Supply Chain and Planning teams, you will ensure stock arrives with a thoughtful eye on cash flow and capacity, making sure the right products are in the right places to maximise full-price sell-through.
- Optimise the Season: You will oversee the trading for your department, managing OTB and addressing stock risks with the most profitable, clever solutions.

What You’ll Bring
- We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record at Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser level, ideally within a lifestyle or fashion brand that shares our appreciation for quality.
- Technical Savvy: You are a wizard with Excel or Google Sheets and possess a high standard of commercial acumen. You can look at a spreadsheet and see the story behind the numbers.
- Organisation: Your attention to detail is second to none. You can prioritise your own workload and lead your team with a calm, confident energy.
- Communication: You are a natural when it comes to negotiation and presentation, able to influence others while remaining approachable and relatable.
- Most importantly, you are someone who loves getting things done. You have a bold optimism for the future, you are never afraid to fail and grow, and you celebrate success collaboratively. You embrace change and always give it your all.
Sponsorship
In accordance with Home Office guidance successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. Joules does not hold a Sponsor Licence and would not, therefore, be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the right to work without sponsorship.
