At Nexperia Manchester we are now expanding our Semiconductor Process Engineering team where you will play a vital role within Diffusion Process Engineering technologies as a Senior Staff Engineer. In this role you will lead key continuous improvement projects as well as managing any escalated sustainment issues. This is a great chance to develop your own skillset within Semiconductor Engineering by joining a highly skilled, dynamic and collaborative team working on key semiconductor manufacturing technologies.
What you will do:
- As a Senior Staff Process Engineer, you will work with key manufacturing processes including furnacing, wafer cleaning, sputtering, passivation, evaporation and Rapid thermal processing.
- You will spend most of your time leading key projects with a focus on wafer output, yield improvement, cost reduction and overall process capability.
- You will ensure new and existing processes are robust, capable and fully risk assessed continually reviewing and rescoring FMEAs to maintain accuracy and operational stability.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Continuous Improvement & Development Projects
- Deliver technical improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, ease of manufacture and process capability.
- Support new product and platform development through process development activities.
- Sustain and improve mechanical and electrical yields to meet departmental targets.
- Monitor and improve Cpk levels across all processes, including coordinating R&R studies on metrology equipment.
- Ensure process performance is reviewed, tracked and reported in line with factory policy.
- Generate and maintain accurate Wafer Fab Operator Instructions.
- Ensure full adherence to departmental procedures and quality standards.
What you will need:
- Circa 5+ years of Semiconductor Industry experience as a Process Engineer ideally with diffusion / furnacing experience.
- HND or Degree in a relevant STEM discipline (degree preferred).
- Project management experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Great priority management and the ability to work in high pressure environments.
- Competent with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work a shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off, 12 hours per day.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in Diffusion Furnacing Technologies.
