We are now looking to hire an Equipment Engineering Technician to join the deposition and diffusion maintenance team on-site.
As an Equipment Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the manufacturing operations team in routine maintenance activities, breakdowns, and root cause analysis of complex and high-tech wafer fab equipment. You will work on a shift pattern that includes 2 weeks of days and 1 week of nights over a 12-hour shift with 4 days off each week. You will diagnose known faults quickly and complete repairs efficiently whilst understanding how maintenance performed can affect semiconductor yield. You will get to optimise and improve the maintenance procedures using the key performance indicators available, and will demonstrate effective maintenance spares stock control and housekeeping practices to maintain the 5s standard. As an Equipment Engineering Technician, you will also use the factory MES platform to determine and execute preventative maintenance schedules and update equipment histories, observing health and safety directives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preventative Maintenance: Assist in the planning and execution of preventative maintenance activities, ensuring that all equipment is operating at peak performance.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out maintenance procedures and root cause analysis on a variety of diffusion wafer processing equipment, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of issues.
- Spare Stock Control: Manage spare parts efficiently, ensuring stock levels are maintained and materials are readily available when needed.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict health and safety directives while carrying out all maintenance and repair work.
- KPI Improvement: Analyse data to identify opportunities for cost-effective maintenance programs that improve equipment performance and drive KPIs forward.
- Team Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with internal team members and external specialists to ensure smooth operations and effective problem-solving.
This role will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to build your skillset in Equipment Engineering and Maintenance in the fast-paced, high-tech industry. When you join Nexperia, you will be provided with both formal and informal training whilst progressing in seniority within the technical and managerial career ladders.
What you will need:
- You must be able to work a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off over 12 hours. This will consist of 2 weeks of days and 1 week of nights.
- Completed a mechanical/electrical apprenticeship and educated to a minimum of C&G /ONC standard, or have worked at this level in a similar industry.
- Hard skills of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, vacuum, pneumatic, or actuation.
- Soft skills of adaptability, problem-solving, teamwork, and Microsoft Office.
- A track record of meeting deadlines and managing your own workload.
- Desire to learn and progress (with full training provided).
