At Nexperia Manchester we are now expanding our Semiconductor Process Engineering Team to support the diffusion technologies. As a Process Engineer you will play a key role in sustaining daily production while driving long-term improvement projects in varying areas of the fab. This is a great chance to work in a dynamic environment covering many processing technologies, offering a clear development path.

What you will do

As a Process Engineer at Nexperia you will split your time between reactive sustaining work (around 80%) and proactive project delivery (around 20%). You will work on manufacturing processes that cover areas including furnacing, wafer cleaning, sputtering, passivation, evaporation and rapid thermal processing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Yield, Capability & Performance Improvement

  • Sustain and improve mechanical and electrical yields to meet departmental targets
  • Monitor and improve Cpk levels across all processes, including coordinating R&R studies on metrology equipment
  • Ensure process performance is reviewed, tracked and reported in line with factory policy

Continuous Improvement & Development Projects

  • Deliver technical improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, ease of manufacture and process capability
  • Support new product and platform development through process development activities

Documentation & Compliance

  • Generate and maintain accurate Wafer Fab Operator Instructions
  • Ensure full adherence to departmental procedures and quality standards

What you will need

  • Semiconductor Industry experience as a Process Engineer
  • HND or Degree in a relevant STEM discipline (degree preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Great priority management and the ability to work in high pressure environments
  • Competent with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to work a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour shifts including (2 weeks of days and 1 week of nights)

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in Diffusion Engineering Processes
