Nexperia is a world-class company in semiconductor development and in-house production. A proven global player with an entrepreneurial mentality. At our core is an 13,000+ strong international network with a singular focus. Built on passion and commitment to our work, belief in our goals and a drive to succeed regardless of the challenges we face. We support, reward and challenge individuals equally, in a dynamic and energetic environment.

Nexperia is one of the world leaders in essential semiconductors and aspires to become a $10b turnover business by 2030. This ambition can be achieved through our next-generation technologies, ongoing improvements in manufacturing sustainability, state-of-the-art facilities, and, most importantly, investing in our people.

We are now hiring a proactive and reliable Facilities Labourer to join the manufacturing site facilities team. This is a hands-on role where you will work both indoors and outdoors, supporting the smooth running of operations on site.

What You Will Do

As a Facilities Labourer, you will spend most of your time managing vital manufacturing waste disposal (including hazardous and confidential waste), operating equipment such as granulators and shredders, ensuring segregation and recycling standards are met. Alongside this, you’ll support a wide range of site activities – from setting up meeting rooms and assisting with office moves, to perimeter fence security tours, litter management, and even maintaining the on-site pond and bird feeding areas.

This varied role requires flexibility, physical fitness, and a willingness to take on routine tasks that are essential to keeping our site safe, clean, and operational. Over a month, you will work 90% weekdays and 10% weekends with usual hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday, or just 5.5 hours Friday - Sunday. Additional overtime will also be available at an enhanced rate for weekends.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing site waste compound, including hazardous and confidential waste disposal
  • Operating granulators and shredders, and a forklift to dispose of manufacturing waste
  • Weekly tasks such as clearing the manufacturing plant basements
  • Supporting office set-ups, relocations, and meeting room arrangements
  • Perimeter fence security tours and litter picking
  • Assisting with snow and ice clearing during the winter months
  • Maintaining bund areas, gullies, drains, and other misc. duties

What You Will Need

Essential requirements:

  • On-site availability: Ability to reliably work 37.5 hours per week over a four-week rota. The monthly working schedule includes 18 weekday shifts and 2 weekend shifts (1 Saturday and 1 Sunday of 5.5 hours in duration)
  • Physical capability: Comfortable with a highly active role, averaging 15,000 steps per day indoors and outdoors
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Clear communication and effective teamwork are key to success in this role
  • Adaptability: Flexible and resilient in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Practical competence: Confident in safe manual handling techniques and willing to undertake training where required

Desirable skills:

  • Forklift truck licence – or willingness to undertake training
  • Chemical awareness – existing knowledge beneficial, with full training provided
  • Relevant background – prior experience in facilities labouring, building maintenance, or caretaking roles

What We Offer

Remuneration & Reward – Competitive base salary of £31,874, annual bonus plan, available overtime at 1.5x or 2x rate for weekends, excellent contributory pension scheme (up to 9%), EV salary sacrifice scheme, recognition rewards, income protection, and 12x salary life assurance.

Health & Wellbeing – 33 days of annual leave, flexible benefits scheme, enhanced sick pay, on-site medical centre, virtual GP, subsidised canteen, employee assistance programme, retail and entertainment discounts, and a variety of sports and social clubs.

Professional Development – Funded forklift training as well as hazards and handling training, with the possibility of funded academic support to excel in your career. Employee goal setting and development plans, excellent opportunities for career growth both locally and globally, with management and technical career pathways.
