Overview

As a Postgraduate Process or Integration Engineer you will follow a structured development journey aligned to our internal graduate framework over a two‑year period. The journey is divided into four phases: Foundation & Fab Readiness, Structured Rotations, Process Ownership and Optimisation & Specialisation. Throughout the program you will receive training in cleanroom behaviour, device physics, statistical process control fundamentals, and structured problem solving; complete six‑month rotations through Lithography, Etch, Deposition, Diffusion and Integration; contribute to process modules; and lead technical initiatives such as yield improvement, cost reduction and cycle‑time optimisation.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve high‑profile fabrication incidents using Six Sigma, 8D and Kepner‑Treg‑oe methodologies.
  • Plan, execute and analyse engineering trials across diffusion, assembly and life‑test processes.
  • Develop robust process modules and produce clear, accurate documentation.
  • Drive experimental design, risk analysis and feasibility studies for new technologies.
  • Build strong cross‑functional relationships with equipment, yield, design and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree (MSc, MEng or PhD) in Semiconductor or Microelectronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering with a focus on microelectronics, Materials Science & Engineering with a strong foundation in thin films and defects, Physics with emphasis on solid‑state physics, or Chemical Engineering related to etch/deposition chemistry and process control.
  • Understanding of semiconductor processing methods and experience with cleanroom practice.
  • Strong data analysis capability and ability to summarise and communicate complex technical findings clearly to engineering colleagues.
  • Ability to work onsite at Nexperia Manchester Monday‑Friday 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility for a shift pattern that includes daytime and night shifts (12‑hour days) and a 42% shift premium pay.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of electrical test principles used for Power MOSFET products.
  • Knowledge of silicon substrate and epitaxy requirements for high‑performance, high‑efficiency power semiconductor devices.
