As a Multiskilled Equipment Engineering Technician, you will be a key contributor to our manufacturing operations, carrying out routine maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and performing root‑cause analysis on complex, high‑tech wafer‑fab systems. You will diagnose faults swiftly, execute repairs efficiently, and understand how your work directly influences semiconductor yield.

Responsibilities

  • Preventative Maintenance: Assist in the planning and execution of preventative maintenance activities, ensuring that all equipment is operating at peak performance.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out maintenance procedures and root cause analysis on a variety of diffusion wafer processing equipment, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of issues.
  • Spare Stock Control: Manage spare parts efficiently, ensuring stock levels are maintained and materials are readily available when needed.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict health and safety directives while carrying out all maintenance and repair work.
  • KPI Improvement: Analyse data to identify opportunities for cost‑effective maintenance programs that improve equipment performance and drive KPIs forward.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with internal team members and external specialists to ensure smooth operations and effective problem‑solving.

Shift Pattern

You must be able to work a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off over 12 hours, consisting of 2 weeks of days and 1 week of nights (7‑7).

Qualifications

  • Completed a mechanical/electrical apprenticeship and educated to a minimum of C&G / ONC standard, or have worked at this level in a similar industry.
  • Hard skills of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic maintenance experience.
  • Soft skills of adaptability, problem‑solving, teamwork, and Microsoft Office.
  • A track record of meeting deadlines and managing your own workload.
  • Desire to learn and progress into becoming a fully qualified specialist Equipment Engineer.

Desirable Experience

  • Hard skills of vacuum, pneumatic, or actuation in maintenance or repair settings.
  • Exposure to working in the Semiconductor Industry or a similar fast‑paced setting.

Remuneration & Reward

Starting base salary and shift allowance of £47,000‑£54,000 (DOE), bonus scheme up to 6%, excellent contributory pension scheme of up to 9%, recognition rewards scheme, EV salary sacrifice scheme, income protection, 12 × salary life assurance.
