We are seeking a Senior Piping Designer for a 12 month contract role, responsible for the preparation and delivery of piping draughting activities while ensuring technical quality is maintained within budget and schedule.
They will be responsible for project planning, progress tracking, and cost control for assigned scopes, while also managing scope changes in collaboration with lead engineers and piping designers. This position requires strong communication skills, as the Senior Piping Designer will work closely with project management and inter-discipline teams.
They will be responsible for reviewing and checking work outputs, including remote work approvals, and will play a key role in improving design department practices and efficiency. The role also includes maintaining document filing systems, updating design databases, and supporting the competency development of design personnel, including mentoring trainees and providing technical assistance.
The ideal candidate will proactively liaise with lead and principal designers, ensuring effective implementation of relevant design requirements and software tools such as CAD and 3D modeling systems. Site surveys and visits may be required, and there will be occasional responsibilities to act as a design focal point.
Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry with HNC/NC (or equivalent) in appropriate Engineering subject (Piping/Mechanical). Awareness, and suitable application, of Quality Control, Safety & Environmental methods and engineering procedures for design. Competent in the direction and organisation of design team within project environment (small/medium sized). Prior exposure to commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of design. Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.)
