We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer for a contract role. This role is accountable for executing electrical engineering activities while ensuring technical quality is maintained within budget and schedule constraints.
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will provide expert input into tenders and proposals, contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices, and oversee the supervision and workload allocation of electrical engineering personnel. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with project budgets, schedules, and the change control process, working closely with Planning, Project Engineering, and Project Control functions.
Your responsibilities will also include ensuring adherence to the latest industry standards, regulations, and procedures. You will liaise regularly with clients, attend key meetings, and ensure the preparation, approval, and submission of estimates and schedules using our digital ecosystem (Slingshot). Maintaining strong communication with clients, project teams, and inter-discipline stakeholders will be essential.
You will be responsible for reviewing and approving electrical engineering outputs, managing document control, and supporting the development and competency assessments of team members. The role involves implementing effective engineering processes, maintaining close communication with the Engineering Manager and Lead Electrical Engineer, and may include acting as the discipline focal point or Lead Engineer when required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- UK bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in appropriate engineering subject (Electrical).
- Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering Institute.
- Sound technical background and expertise.
- Experienced in selection and use of applicable codes, practices, standards and statutory documentation.
- Competent in the direction and organisation of discipline team within project environment (Small/Medium Sized).
- Competent in commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of Engineering.
- Experienced in aspects of discipline design (including multi-discipline) and use of analytical methods including theoretic background.
- Mandatory offshore certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.)
