Experienced in the safe and efficient installation, assembly, and testing of electrical systems in modular, hazardous area/zoned & pressurised cabins, able to interpret electrical drawings, off-site manufacturing, prefabricated construction environments and ex inspection experience. This includes managing electrical technicians, ensuring quality control, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and design specifications.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Scheduling: Coordinating electrical teams, apprentices, and subcontractors in a factory setting or on-site during building installations.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensuring all modular cabling, distribution boards, and containment systems meet exact schematics, BS 7671 (wiring regulations), and Building Standards.
- Testing & Commissioning: Reviewing or performing initial electrical testing, inspections, and completing certifications before modules leave the factory or are powered on-site.
- Health & Safety: Writing and enforcing Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) and maintaining permit-to-work.
- Logistics: Managing materials and coordinating with other trades.
Typical Requirements & Qualifications
- Qualifications: COMPEX (01-04) City & Guilds or SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and testing qualifications.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in commercial/industrial electrical work, with specific understanding of off-site modular build solutions, multi-core routing, and panel assembly.
- Ability to work proactively on own and work as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Work Environment / Conditions
- Location: Nord Centre, Aberdeen – remote client sites and potential for offshore sites based on training and experience level.
- Full‑Time: 37.5-hours per week.
