Job Description
Job Purpose:
A key role in the HR team, reporting to the Training & Competence Lead, this role will manage and ensure Learning, Training & Competence delivery and compliance across the business ensuring our workforce have the skills and competencies required to do their job to the high standards of safety, quality and delivery expected by our team and our customers. The Competence and Development Adviser will take ownership for the competence requirements across the business and provide advice on training, development and competence matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess all offshore and site competency and compliance processes and systems with the objective of making clear recommendations for change / improvement on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for working closely with all functions and teams across the business to ensure development and competence are maintained.
- Establish competence and development frameworks for the office based teams, working alongside technical authorities in projects and functions to ensure nexos can optimally leverage its talented workforce across all areas of the business in alignment with organisational priorities.
- Drive a clear plan with fixed milestones and objectives to deliver improvements, reporting status of deliverables periodically to the Leadership Team and highlighting where support/intervention is needed.
- Define requirements for onshore frameworks with Technical Authorities to build, implement and maintain in-house technical competency frames.
- Work with the QA team and support the business with auditing and participate in continual review and development of competency related systems to ensure they remain robust.
- Act as the company focal point in delivering support and induction to the company Competence Management System.
- Researching and advising on development options for our high performing employees
- Focal point for apprentices and graduate programmes including liaising with colleges and universities
- Creating SCORM packages for in house CBTs
- Focal point for DYW and driving their visibility within the business
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an L&D / Competence role and knowledge of developing
- Competence standards and managing a learning management system.
- Proven ability in managing training and competence in a highly regulated industry environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
- Strong communicator and proven ability to deliver results across a complex group of internal, and external, stakeholders.

Work Environment/Conditions:
- Office: Corporate headquarters, Albyn Place. Will be required to attend other nexos group UK facilities to support business operations on an ad hoc basis.
