What you’ll be doing

Key role to ensure Instrument & Control Engineering activities are executed in alignment to nexos integrated brownfield offering. You will be accountable for executing discipline engineering activities and ensuring technical quality is maintained within budget and schedule. Reporting directly to the Lead Instrument & Control Engineer. This role is critical to our success as we evolve into one of the leading EPC contractors in the market.

You will be responsible for:

Key Fundamentals: People, Process and Systems

In line with our internal processes and “how to guides” you will:

  • Act in accordance with the nexos Core Values.
  • Work in accordance with regulatory / nexos HSE & quality requirements.
  • Support Business Management System (BMS) development and be responsible for improvement of department working practices, systems, and team efficiency.
  • Support development and competency of subordinates.
  • Maintain required technical quality of work.
  • Maintain effective communication with project management and inter discipline teams.

(day to day focus of team)

  • As required (or identified by Lead or Engineering Manager) act as discipline focal point / lead engineer.
  • Provide discipline specific input into tenders and proposals as required.
  • Assess and continuously improve working practices, systems, personnel and team efficiency and performance.
  • Responsible for discipline including personnel, supervision, workload allocation and delivery.
  • Ensure assigned work is compliant to agreed budget and schedule.
  • Input & maintenance of project plan, progress updates and cost control for assigned scopes.
  • Maintain project scope/schedule change(s) in accordance with project change control process in conjunction with Planning, Project Engineering & Project Control functions.
  • Ensure compliance to applicable/up to date standards, regulations, codes and procedures.
  • Regular liaison with customer focal points and attendance at key meetings, as required.
  • Estimate/schedule preparation & approval and electronic submission via nexos digital eco-system (Slingshot).
  • Maintain effective communication with client, project management and inter discipline teams.
  • Review, check and approve (where applicable) discipline work output (including remote working, e-checking/approval etc.).
  • Discipline checking, approval, and document filing (including electronic).
  • Implement appropriate engineering processes and procedures.
  • Maintain regular contact and dialog with Lead discipline / Engineering Manager highlighting issues, concerns or areas for improvement.

What we need from you

  • Contract position (PSC)
  • Full-time – hrs/pw
  • Location –Albyn Place, Client Office, Remote and supporting our teams in other Aberdeen facilities

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry with UK bachelor’s degree (or equiv.) in appropriate Eng. subject.
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer and Member of appropriate Engineering Institute.
  • Experience Engineer with sound technical background and expertise.
  • Experienced in selection and use of, applicable codes, practices, standards and statutory documentation.
  • Competent in the direction and organisation of discipline team within project environment (Small/Medium Sized)
  • Competent in commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of Engineering.
  • Experienced in aspects of discipline design (including multi-discipline) and use of Analytical methods including theoretic background
