We are seeking a skilled Modular Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize modular systems and components using AutoCAD & 3D Autodesk Inventor software. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in CAD design, a solid understanding of DNV standards & modular construction or product systems, and the ability to translate concepts into precise, production-ready drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor for modular systems, components, and assemblies.
- Develop accurate technical drawings, layouts, and schematics based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance.
- Modify and revise drawings based on feedback, site conditions, and client specifications.
- Ensure all designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Support manufacturing or construction teams with design clarifications and updates.
- Maintain organized documentation of drawings, revisions, and project files.
- Assist in material selection and cost-effective design solutions.
- Conduct site visits within the workshop or at fabrication workshops (if required) to gather measurements or validate designs to as built.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Proven experience working with AutoCAD (2D and/or 3D) & Autodesk Inventor/Solidworks.
- Strong understanding of modular design principles and construction/manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in drafting standards and detailing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DNV standards modular construction, prefabrication, or product design.
- Familiarity with other design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, or similar CAD software).
- Knowledge of DNV / Norsok / ABS building codes, materials, and structural systems.
