We are recruiting a Warehouse Team Leader at our Crawley depot in West Sussex. This is a permanent full‑time role (45 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 1 pm‑10 pm) with an immediate start.

Responsibilities

  • Live and promote Blueleaf's Culture and Values.
  • Manage the shift team to ensure all goods are received and stored accurately and that orders are picked, checked and loaded to meet van departure times.
  • Monitor the shift to ensure quality work and efficient use of resources.
  • Print/emergency sales orders after the cut‑off time or arrange a different date with Customer Services.
  • Conduct and record physical stock‑takes as requested.
  • Provide a daily accurate handover report.
  • Resolve day‑to‑day operational issues/problems.
  • Review team performance and develop the team through cross‑training and coaching, including PDRs.
  • Ensure staff wear safety equipment and adhere to all health and safety, training and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and add value.
  • Oversee critical ops reports for missed shipments/unplanned orders and report to Customer Services as required.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor in daily functions and suggest solutions to problems.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, Transport Supervisor and Depot Manager to ensure Blueleaf values are demonstrated.
  • Rotate staff to roles where necessary to support the business and build multi‑skill capability.
  • Provide multi‑functional support in all business areas to manage volume and absence, including holiday cover for alternate shift team leader.
  • Occasionally work from other company warehouses as business needs arise, with appropriate notice.
  • Open or lock the site safely and securely.
  • Ensure safety of others and that all H&S procedures are followed.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a team leader / supervisor for a warehousing team.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to participate as a full member of the team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, manual handling and hazardous substances.
  • Ideally previous experience using counterbalance and high‑reach forklift trucks, powered pallet truck equipment, and holding a forklift licence.
  • Full driving licence.
