Purchasing Assistant – Construction About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team in a fast-paced construction environment. Fully Office Based in my clients newly refurbished premises in Aldershot. My client are a long established family run business who specialise in design, Fit out, refurbishment. You will be responsible for managing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, maintaining procurement records, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to construction sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or further a career in construction procurement and supply chain. Key Responsibilities for Purchasing Assistant: * Raise, issue, and track purchase orders for materials, tools, and services * Liaise with site managers and project teams to confirm requirements and delivery schedules * Maintain accurate supplier and product records within ERP or procurement systems * Source and compare prices, lead times, and availability from approved suppliers * Assist in negotiating with suppliers for best value and terms * Monitor delivery performance and follow up on delays or discrepancies * Maintain procurement documentation in line with company and audit requirements * Support the Procurement Manager and Buyers with ad hoc tasks and reporting Key Skills & Experience Purchasing Assistant: * Experience in a purchasing or procurement support role, preferably in construction, engineering, or manufacturing * Excellent organisational and time-management skills * Strong written and verbal communication * Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) * Experience using procurement or ERP software (e.g. COINS, Sage, SAP) is an advantage * Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities * Good attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting What We Offer: * Competitive salary with room for progression * 25 days holiday + bank holidays * Company pension scheme * On-site parking * Supportive team culture with opportunities to learn and develop * Exposure to major construction projects across the South East For more details and information on the Purchasing Assistant role please Email
