We're recruiting a Tenancy Sustainment Officer for a permanent, full-time role in Stoke-on-Trent, working with a national, award-winning supported housing charity. You'll provide housing management support to people with multiple and complex needs as part of a service for those who have lost their home or been rough sleeping.

You'll assess people for the scheme, help them settle into their new home, and support them to build the skills they need to manage a tenancy - from budgeting and financial inclusion through to keeping their home safe and well maintained.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, worked as 7.5-hour days between 8am and 10pm, and includes some weekend working.

Please note this is a permanent position, starting on a temporary basis, and we are unable to offer visa sponsorship - applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing referrals to the scheme against its criteria
  • Completing safety tasks and home inspections to keep homes to a good standard
  • Supporting service users with budgeting and financial inclusion to develop independent living skills
  • Managing rent accounts and following arrears processes
  • Recording and reporting tenancy notes via an online CRM system, both online and on a mobile device
  • Identifying, monitoring and reporting safeguarding concerns in line with policy
  • Working within the organisation's charitable aims, values and ethos

What weโ€™re looking for

  • An awareness of issues affecting vulnerable people and those who have faced multiple disadvantages
  • Experience overcoming barriers to housing for people who may be excluded from the housing register
  • Organised, able to multitask, and a completer-finisher who follows policy and process
  • Practical skills to support people with the activities of daily living needed for independence
  • Experience managing rent accounts and following arrears processes
  • Experience of health and safety and maintaining standards of premises
  • Experience working within safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Comfortable working within the values and ethos of a faith-based charity
  • Enhanced (Adult Barred List) DBS check required. Lived experience welcomed but not essential
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
