We are looking for a Payroll Supervisor to oversee and manage end-to-end payroll for four companies, covering approximately 3,000 employees. This role is ideal for someone with payroll experience looking to grow into a leadership position and make a significant impact on a dynamic and supportive team based in West Byfleet.
- Monday to Friday (Hybrid – three days from home)
- 8am – 4pm
- 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage assigned payrolls, working closely with the Group Head of Payroll to resolve discrepancies and complex payroll issues.
- Supervise and support payroll coordinators handling multiple PAYE systems.
- Assist with submitting all RTI, FPS, and EPS to HMRC, making PAYE payments, and ensuring correct tax and deductions.
- Calculate statutory and HMRC deductions/payments, apply tax code notifications from employees and HMRC.
- Manage and maintain company mileage, cars, and NIC/Class 1A contributions.
- Assist in analysing variance reports, ensuring all variances are justified before payroll approval.
- Support the Group Head of Payroll in managing company pension schemes (LGPS and statutory pensions).
- Support year-end payroll activities (P60s and P11Ds), supporting finance teams with audits and payroll-related processes.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a payroll supervisory or team leader role, or significant experience as a Payroll Officer/Specialist looking to progress into a leadership position.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll systems, financial regulations, and high-volume payroll processing.
- Experience in processing high-volume, in-house payroll from start to finish, including the ability to perform manual calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and advanced Excel proficiency (including lookups and pivot tables).
