NexGen Consultancy are currently recruiting for a Senior Production Engineer to join a well established, global brand specialising within the Motorsport sector.
Hours of work: Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm / Friday: 7:30am - 3:30pm
Our client are seeking a motivated individual to join our Manufacturing Team as a Senior Production Engineer.
The Role:
- Design/develop and implement new production methods/jigs/fixtures to support the NPI process.
- Create CNC programs for 3, 4 & 5 axis and mill-turn machines via NX CAM & Vericut.
- Manage the effective release of new products into Production.
- Implement new cutting technologies to improve existing production methods.
- Produce and maintain associated documentation such as Process Instructions, Test Instructions & BOM contents for all product builds.
- Assist with the implementation of staff training programs.
- Manage cost containments.
- Estimating production times & costs.
- Checking BOM’s for structure & content.
- Work with supply chain on potential cost reduction programs.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrable experience of programming complex (Automotive or Aerospace) components using a CAD/CAM system, ideally NX.
- Apprentice trained, and achieved a relevant engineering qualification (HNC or higher).
- Demonstrable experience in fixture design with a strong understanding of GD&T.
- A logical approach to problem solving, root cause analysis and countermeasure.
- Strong planning and organization skills, embracing change.
- Experience in the use of Vericut & SAP ERP system would be advantageous.
