NexGen Consultancy LTD are currently recruiting for a Production Manager/Planner to join a well reputable, fast growing precision engineering company based in Bristol. Our client are currently investing heavily in new state of the art technology.

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent 7.30-16.30 Mon-Thursday. 7.30 -12.30 Friday

Reporting To: Technical Director- Managing Director

Role Purpose: The Production Manager – Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and executing production plans to ensure the business delivers on time, in full (OTIF), and in line with quality and cost targets. This role acts as the central link between planning and shop floor execution, ensuring that machine capacity, labour, and materials are aligned to meet customer demand efficiently. The role requires a proactive, hands-on individual who can control the plan, react to change, and drive performance across production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage production schedules
  • Ensure plan adherence on the shop floor
  • Monitor KPIs including OTIF, utilisation, and WIP
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions
  • Improve planning accuracy and production flow
  • Coordinate materials and capacity planning
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Collaborate across departments

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in production planning and shop floor management within an engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of scheduling and capacity planning
  • ERP/MRP system experience
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Qualifications: Engineering understanding or related field (preferred)
