We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join a well established and growing precision engineering manufacturer supplying high quality components into Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Defence sectors. This is a permanent late shift position offering excellent earning potential, long term stability, and the opportunity to work on low volume, high complexity components in a clean, well invested machine shop environment. The role would suit a CNC Turner who enjoys programming at the machine, working to tight tolerances, and taking full ownership of the job from start to finish.
Key responsibilities:
- Programming, setting, and operating 2 axis CNC turning machines
- Writing new CNC programs long hand at the machine with minimal supervision
- Editing and proving existing CNC programs
- Programming using Fanuc controls and Manual Guide i
- Full machine setup including tooling, materials, speeds, and feeds
- Producing one off and low to medium volume precision components
- Working with a variety of hard and soft metals
- Carrying out in process inspection using precision measuring equipment
- Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and tolerances
- Working on components ranging from approximately 25mm diameter up to 300mm diameter and up to 3 metres in length
- Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping, and safety
Experience required:
- Time served CNC Turner with strong programming, setting, and operating experience
- Proven experience on 2 axis CNC turning machines
- Strong Fanuc control experience essential
- Ability to program using G codes advantageous
- Excellent understanding of cutting speeds, feeds, and geometric tolerancing
- Background in a precision engineering or machine shop environment
- Experience working to aerospace or high integrity standards preferred
- Self motivated, quality focused, and able to work independently
Package and benefits:
- Salary £37,000 to £41,000 basic plus late shift premium (time plus one third)
- Total earnings £49,653 to £54,653 per annum
- Full time, permanent position
