2 Axis CNC Turning | Late Shift | £49,653 - £54,653 p/a INCLUDING LATE SHIFT PREMIUM

Hours of Work: Monday - Wednesday - 4:30pm - 3:30am | Thursday 4:30pm - 1am

Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to work for a more established local manufacturing business? Do you have a passion for precision engineering, an excellent understanding of the turning process and can work to tight tolerances and surface finishes?

Our client is a long-established business that specialises in the manufacture of low volume, high quality, tubular and threaded components for various sectors including Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Defense industries. Due to continuous expansion, we are actively hiring for an experienced CNC Turner/Programmer as we are looking to expand our engineering team.

Experience Required
  • Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis turning machines.
  • Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision.
  • Experience programming using Fanuc controls & 'Manual Guide i' software would be advantageous.
  • Experience programming using G codes would be advantageous.
  • Editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, feeds.
  • Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
  • Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals.
  • Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
  • Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
  • Strong working history within the manufacturing industry within a machine shop environment.
  • Hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner.
  • Confident in working on various size parts anything from ¢25mm x 100mm up to 300mm x 3m; hoist lifting equipment & hoist training is provided.
Package and Benefits
  • Salary depending on experience. Range £37-£41k per annum flat rate, however late shift premium is time plus a third.
  • The position is full-time and permanent, and an immediate start is available.
  • Holidays are 28 days including Bank Holidays + extra bonus holiday over the Christmas Period to ensure a full shutdown.
