NexGen Consultancy LTD are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a well established precision engineering manufacturer.
Our client is a growing precision engineering manufacturer investing heavily in people, equipment, and systems as they expand their aerospace capability. To support this growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quality Engineer from an AS9100 aerospace background to take ownership of the Quality function and play a key role in customer engagement, audits, and continuous improvement. This is a senior, hands on quality role offering real autonomy and influence within a forward thinking manufacturing environment.
As Quality Engineer, you will lead all quality related activities across the business, ensuring full compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements. You will act as the main quality contact for aerospace customers, manage audits, maintain documentation, and drive a strong quality culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and develop the Quality Management System in line with AS9100 requirements
- Lead internal audits and support customer and third party certification audits
- Act as the primary quality interface for aerospace customers
- Manage nonconformances, corrective and preventative actions using structured root cause analysis
- Own and control all quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, and records
- Monitor quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support new product introduction and contract review from a quality perspective
- Provide quality guidance and training to colleagues across the business
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within an aerospace or AS9100 manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements
- Experience leading audits and dealing directly with customers
- Background in precision engineering, machining, or complex manufacturing environments
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
- Hands on, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Quality auditing qualifications or similar
- Experience with aerospace customers and regulatory standards
- Lean or Six Sigma exposure
- A key role within a business investing heavily in growth and aerospace capability
