Our client is a growing precision engineering company manufacturing high quality machined components for demanding industries including aerospace and advanced engineering sectors. As the business continues to expand and develop its aerospace manufacturing capability, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Setter Operator to join their team. This role would suit a skilled CNC machinist who takes pride in producing precision components and is comfortable working in a quality driven environment.
The Role
- Setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls
- Working on CNC machining centres producing precision components
- Setting and running 5 axis machines
- Loading programs and making tooling and offset adjustments
- Producing components to tight tolerances from engineering drawings
- Carrying out self inspection using micrometers, verniers and gauges
- Maintaining high quality standards and supporting production targets
- Working closely with the production team to maintain efficient workflow
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller Setter Operator
- Experience operating CNC machining centres with Fanuc controls
- Strong experience or knowledge of 5 axis machining
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances
- Confident using inspection equipment
- Good understanding of tooling, feeds and speeds
- Strong attention to detail and quality
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Fusion 360 CAM software
- Experience within aerospace or AS9100 manufacturing environments
- Experience producing complex multi axis components
- Ability to carry out minor program edits
