About NexGen Cloud & Hyperstack
NexGen Cloud is a fast-growing technology company building next-generation GPU cloud infrastructure. We are the team behind Hyperstack, a high-performance, on-demand GPU-as-a-Service platform used by AI developers, startups, and enterprises running compute-intensive workloads. Unlike platforms that sit on top of third-party clouds, we own and operate the full stack — from hardware and networking through orchestration, APIs, billing, security, and customer experience. This end-to-end ownership allows us to deliver speed, reliability, and control at scale, while working with real technical constraints and meaningful trade-offs.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager for Hyperstack, our flagship on-demand GPU cloud platform. Hyperstack is scaling rapidly — in product scope, customer demand, and technical complexity. As NexGen Cloud continues to expand its GPU cloud platform, we need clear product ownership to ensure the platform evolves in a way that is technically credible, commercially aligned, and deeply rooted in real customer and operational needs. This is a senior, high-ownership role. At NexGen, Product Managers sit at the centre of the business — working directly with the Head of Software Development, infrastructure leadership, commercial teams, and executives.
You will not just "manage a backlog." You will own the product: shaping strategy, driving delivery, representing Hyperstack internally, educating teams, and ensuring the business understands what we are building, why it matters, and where it is going next.
Hyperstack is a complex, fast-moving system with many interconnected components (compute, networking, storage, scheduling, APIs, billing, auth, support tooling). This role requires someone who is comfortable operating at speed, with ambiguity, and with minimal supervision — and who has done so successfully before.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own the Hyperstack product roadmap end-to-end, balancing customer needs, technical constraints, commercial priorities, and long-term platform strategy.
- Ensure the roadmap is technically credible, commercially aligned, and clearly communicated across engineering, infrastructure, sales, support, and leadership.
- Act as the internal product authority for Hyperstack, ensuring clarity on what we are building, why it matters, and where it is going next.
- Delivery & Execution
- Work day-to-day alongside the Head of Software Development and engineering leads to drive delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Break down complex platform problems into well-scoped, shippable work that maintains momentum in a fast-moving, high-change environment.
- Ensure product initiatives move from idea to release with clear ownership, sequencing, and outcomes.
- Deep Technical Engagement
- Develop and maintain a strong working understanding of IaaS / GPUaaS primitives (VMs, containers, scheduling, quotas, networking, storage).
- GPU infrastructure (PCIe vs SXM, NVLink, multi-GPU systems, constraints at scale).
- APIs, orchestration flows, failure modes, and operational realities.
- You don’t need to write production code — but you must be fluent enough technically to engage credibly with engineers, challenge assumptions, and make informed trade-offs.
- Technical Engagement, Scale and Improvement
- Develop and maintain a strong working understanding of Hyperstack’s technical foundations, including IaaS / GPUaaS primitives, GPU infrastructure, APIs, orchestration flows, and real-world operational constraints.
- Engage credibly with engineering and infrastructure teams to challenge assumptions, make informed trade-offs, and guide product decisions without needing to write production code.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, optimise, and scale the platform as adoption and complexity increase, improving reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Take ownership beyond your core remit when needed, contributing ideas, raising the bar for product thinking, and helping shape how product is done at NexGen Cloud.
- Build shared understanding across the business of how the platform works, who it is for, and how to communicate its value effectively.
- Clearly communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
- Customer, Market & Operational Insight
- Maintain strong feedback loops with customers, internal stakeholders, and support teams.
- Ensure Hyperstack evolves based on real customer and operational needs, not assumptions or vanity features.
About You
- Essential
- 5–8+ years of experience as a Product Manager (or equivalent) on complex, technical platforms.
- Direct, hands-on experience managing products in IaaS, PaaS, GPUaaS, HPC, cloud infrastructure, or developer platforms.
- Proven track record of owning products with real operational complexity, cross-team dependencies, production reliability concerns.
- Experience working closely and continuously with engineering teams, not at arm's length.
- Understanding of LLMs and the world of inference, tokens and finetuning.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and the role it plays in HPC / AI.
- How You Work
- Extremely self-directed — you do not need heavy supervision to be effective.
- Comfortable operating at high speed without losing clarity or quality.
- Strong written and verbal communicator, able to explain complex systems simply, report clearly to executives, align diverse stakeholders, and make confident decisions with incomplete information.
- High personal bar for ownership, follow-through, and accountability.
- Desirable
- Prior experience in a scaling startup or growth-stage infrastructure company.
- Background in engineering, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure-adjacent roles.
- Familiarity with GPU workloads, AI/ML infrastructure, or high-performance systems.
- Experience building or formalising product processes in an evolving organisation.
Why This Role Is Different
- You are not inheriting a "finished" product — you are shaping one of the core pillars of NexGen Cloud.
- You will have direct influence on strategy, not just execution.
- You will work alongside deeply technical teams building real infrastructure, not surface-level abstractions.
- Your work will be visible internally, externally, and commercially.
- If you perform well, this role naturally grows in scope, influence, and leadership responsibility.
Who Will Thrive Here
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has already shipped and operated complex infrastructure products.
- Is bored of slow decision-making and excessive process.
- Wants real ownership and real accountability.
- Enjoys working where product, engineering, and business are tightly coupled.
