Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
We are building next-generation GPU cloud infrastructure. NexGen Cloud is the company behind Hyperstack, a high‑performance cloud platform powering compute‑intensive workloads. Our customers range from AI‑native startups to enterprise and research teams running complex, large‑scale models. We’re scaling quickly — both technically and commercially — and building the financial infrastructure to support that growth. This is not a steady‑state finance role. This is about building something that can keep up with a business moving at pace.
The Role
This is a senior leadership role sitting directly below the CFO. You’ll be responsible for shaping and executing the financial operating model of the business — building structure, improving processes, and ensuring the company has the financial clarity it needs to scale properly. The role spans four key areas: financial operations, modelling and forecasting, board reporting, and business partnering. You’ll need to be comfortable switching gears — one minute fixing a broken process, the next supporting strategic decision‑making at board level.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations & Automation
- Improve and scale core finance processes, with a strong focus on automation and efficiency
- Identify and resolve operational debt across finance systems and workflows
- Strengthen the link between financial data, revenue drivers and business KPIs
- Partner with the CFO to optimise systems (including NetSuite) and data infrastructure
- Own and evolve the three‑statement financial model as the business scales
- Develop robust, driver‑based forecasting capability
- Lead and oversee FP&A output, ensuring quality and consistency
- Support strategic planning, scenario modelling and investment decisions
- Board & Internal Reporting
- Own the preparation of board‑level financial reporting
- Act as a critical review layer (‘four‑eyes’) on financial outputs
- Build and improve internal reporting to drive better decision‑making
- Support investor and stakeholder reporting requirements
- Business Partnering
- Embed budgeting and financial ownership across departments
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the business
- Represent finance at leadership level when required
- Support and develop FP&A capability within the team
What We’re Looking For
Core Experience
- Proven experience in a senior finance role within a high‑growth or scale‑up environment
- Strong track record in building and improving finance processes and systems
- Experience developing and owning complex financial models and forecasts
- Exposure to board‑level reporting and senior stakeholder engagement
Capabilities
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to turn complex data into clear insight
- High level of data literacy and comfort working with large datasets
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on
- Confident communicator with both technical and non‑finance stakeholders
Nice to Have (Not Essential)
- Experience in cloud, infrastructure, or technology‑led businesses
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite
- Experience scaling finance functions in a fast‑moving environment
What You’ll Get
- Competitive salary + discretionary bonus
- 25 days holiday + public holidays
- Flexible hybrid working
- High‑impact role with direct CFO and board exposure
- Real ownership of building a finance function at scale
