About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation delivering managed IT support, P3M, cyber security, technical services and network management solutions across the Defence and secure government sectors.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with a proven track record of winning new business and developing long-term client relationships within highly regulated environments.
Working closely with technical, bid and leadership teams, you will identify new opportunities, develop tailored customer solutions and manage the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through to contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across target markets.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through proactive business development, networking and relationship building.
- Promote managed IT support, P3M, cyber security, technical services and network management solutions.
- Develop trusted relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Understand customer challenges and develop commercially viable solutions.
- Lead customer meetings, presentations and commercial discussions.
- Work collaboratively with bid, technical and operational teams to develop winning proposals.
- Support framework bids and tender opportunities where appropriate.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and contract terms.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM records.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences and networking activities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Business Development or Sales role within Managed IT Services, Professional Services, Cyber Security or Technical Services.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing the complete sales lifecycle from lead generation through to contract award.
- Experience developing customer-focused commercial proposals alongside technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and forecasting.
