Security Clearance: You must hold SC clearance as a minimum and be eligible for DV clearance or already DV cleared. Due to the nature of the work you must be a sole British citizen.
NexGen Associates are working in partnership with a well-established IT Consultancy delivering critical services across the UK Government and Defence sectors. Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their growing technical team supporting secure MOD environments. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior technical architects and stakeholders to design, deliver and support robust network infrastructure across complex and highly regulated environments. You will play a key role in ensuring network services are secure, resilient and aligned with both operational and strategic requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with technical architects, service delivery teams and key stakeholders to design, implement and optimise secure network solutions aligned to client and programme requirements.
- Deliver end-to-end network engineering activities including design, build, configuration, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
- Configure, administer and support LAN and WAN environments including switches, routers, firewalls and associated network hardware.
- Maintain network performance, availability and security ensuring compliance with MOD standards, policies and accreditation requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network incidents and faults providing timely and effective resolution within agreed SLAs.
- Support change and release activities including documentation, impact assessments and implementation planning.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation including network diagrams, build guides and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with external partners including MOD and wider UK Government stakeholders ensuring solutions align with architectural and security objectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives identifying opportunities to enhance network performance, security and resilience.
