Network Architect
Location: Corsham (Hybrid)
Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package, plus a Yearly Bonus
Due to the nature of the work you will be involves you in you must hold an SC Clearance minimum and be happy to go through DV Clearance if you don not hold this and be a Sole British Citizen.
Our client, a leader in Defence IT consulting, is looking for an experienced Network Architect to design and implement cutting-edge strategies tailored to the needs of their clients within the defence and public sectors. You will be an experienced Network Architect, proficient in producing and implementing complex Network designs. You will be able to build good working relationships with both technical and business stakeholders and be able to gain their respect and trust based on your knowledge, work ethics and professionalism.
As a Network Architect, you’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team to enable migration goals, focusing on VMware environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing Network Requirements: Assess the needs of systems to ensure a seamless transition.
- Assessing Proposed Network Changes: Review 3rd-party migration plans and raise interconnectivity requests where needed.
- Running Pilots: Define and test network changes to de-risk future migrations.
- Validating Network Designs: Oversee network requirements and changes to enable secure and efficient data transfer.
- Shaping Solutions: Make and guide architectural decisions while ensuring alignment with client goals.
Requirements for the role:
- Strong experience in network architecture/engineering.
- Proven MOD networks experience.
- Proven ability to lead and prioritise in complex environments.
- Provide technical expertise on the design and implementation of technologies like Cisco.
- Knowledge on VMware
- Ensure that the designs are compliant and, in support of, the customer’s technical and business strategies and guidelines.
- Ensure that the designs comply to industry best practice and are the best fit for the customer’s requirements with alternate options if required.
- Represent the design in the customer’s Design Architect forum and technically assist the Project Manager to secure necessary approvals.
- Capable of implementing own designs.
- Staging and testing of equipment, software code and configuration.
- Ability to explain complex technical information, including the articulation of risks to a non-technical audience.
- Certified professional accreditations such as Cisco Network / Security / Design professional or equivalent.
- Should have good communication and collaboration skills working with customer, third parties and suppliers.
- Work experience in Defence.
