This is a direct delivery engineer role with a focus on covering project work across network and server environments, physical DC tasks (racking, cabling, hardware swaps) and contributing to improvement of existing design documentation. The candidate will also be expected to follow, update, and expand existing work instructions for project activities (e.g. build, installation, configuration tasks) and ideally bring a broad understanding across servers and virtualisation.

  • Networking – hands‑on experience with: Juniper SRX firewalls (configuration and ops), Dell S‑Series switches (layer 2/3 config, VLANs, port management), or the ability to adapt existing switching knowledge to different vendors.
  • Operational discipline – following documented work instructions and contributing to their improvement/maintenance.
  • VMware – knowledge of vSAN environments, distributed switches, etc.
  • Windows Server – strong knowledge of Active Directory plus roles and features (Group Policy, WSUS, DNS, DHCP etc). Comfortable working across multiple domains and willing to pick up tasks outside their core area.
  • Powershell scripting (small automation tasks).
  • SolarWinds, Veeam, Cisco ISE, Kemp LoadBalancers, Trellix, Dell Thin Client (beneficial but not essential).
Requirements for the role
  • 2–3+ years in a hands‑on DC/network role (or equivalent).
  • Exposure to both physical DC operations and enterprise networking.
  • Comfortable in mixed vendor environments and adapting quickly.
  • Strong project delivery mindset; proactive in finding and resolving issues.
  • Comfortable with physical DC work as well as logical/network tasks.
  • Willingness to learn beyond core skillset (server/virtualisation exposure).
